The album was co-written with Mahmoud Darwish and Toufic Zayyad in Palestine and composed by Ziad Rahbani and Khaled al Khaber in Beirut in 1979. Khaled al Khaber was immensely patriotic, committed to joint Palestinian-Lebanese struggle, and one of the first musicians to introduce jazz themes to Arabic music.
